The South Pole Race is a unique event which promises to attract the attention of the media worldwide. The historic roots of the race, its extreme nature and location, and its international reach makes it an exceptional story to follow.

The South Pole Race organisers are pursuing a detailed Race PR program, and have received extensive media interest. They are currently in negotiations with a national broadsheet and an international TV sports broadcaster. A leading UK broadcasting company will be covering the race with a documentary, making five one-hour programmes. It has been announced that celebrities Ben Fogle and James Cracknell are racing, which should only further media interest.

Team Southern Lights will actively seek newspaper, radio, TV and magazine press coverage, giving sponsors maximum brand exposure. We have already had discussions with a regional television broadcaster, who are considering daily broadcasts. In addition to the proposed television coverage there will be other rare opportunities such as satellite phone radio interviews from the South Pole.

Following team member Tess Burrows' previous expedition to climb to the point furthest from the centre of the earth - 'Climb for Tibet', promoting Earth Peace - she wrote a best-selling book 'Cry from the Highest Mountain'. Tess will be writing another book sharing her experiences during the South Pole Race.

Website and equipment branding

All sponsors branding will appear on this website, including in the dedicated Sponsors section. Here all relevant company and product information will appear, which both customers and potential customers can access.

During training sessions, the build up to the race and the race itself the website will include daily updated news and race position maps, team diaries, points of interest and image galleries.

In addition, the Sponsor's branding will appear on The South Pole Race website - www.thesouthpolerace.com. There will be Sponsor branding on clothes, hats, tents and pulks to maximise visual media opportunities and exposure for both training events and the race.

All Sponsor flags will be carried to the Pole. Sponsors will receive unique images from Antarctica and at the South Pole.

Company Development

Sponsors can receive Key Note speeches from the team both pre and post race. The team is available for conferences, client engagement events, after dinner speeches and other corporate events.

We are able to provide a Product Showcase if required. Products can be tested in the world's most extreme conditions, demonstrating dedication to quality and superior manufacturing. All products will receive full product testing reports, endorsements and in-use images.
